Right of Withdrawal for Consumers

Consumers have a fourteen-day right of withdrawal for orders of paperback and hardcover copies purchased directly via the PayPal order links embedded on this website.

Digital content (e-book) as well as orders placed via external platforms (Amazon, Thalia, Osiander, Hugendubel, Tolino, etc.) are subject to the respective withdrawal/return conditions of those platforms, not this notice.

Exception: Personalized Special Edition with Individual Dedication

For orders of a limited special edition with a personal dedication individually tailored to the respective buyer (including the buyer's name), no right of withdrawal exists. These copies are individually produced for the respective buyer only after the order is received, and are clearly tailored to that buyer's individual requirements due to the personal dedication. This exclusion of the right of withdrawal is based on Section 312g(2) No. 1 of the German Civil Code (BGB) (contracts for the supply of goods that are not prefabricated and for whose production an individual selection or determination by the consumer is decisive, or that are clearly tailored to the consumer's personal needs).

We provide separate notice, prior to the completion of such an order, that it is a personalized custom-made item without a right of withdrawal.

Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you, or a third party named by you who is not the carrier, took possession of the goods.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us,

by means of a clear statement (e.g., a letter sent by post or an email) of your decision to withdraw from this contract. You may use the attached sample withdrawal form, although this is not mandatory.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; in any event, you will not be charged any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or until you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earlier.

You shall send back the goods, or hand them over to us, without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of fourteen days has expired.

You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling of the goods other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.
